The Leaders of the Oregon Children's Choir
and Youth Chorale
Sandra Miller holds a Master of Music Education degree in Choral Conducting and Organ Performance from Wichita State University in Kansas. She also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in music education from Anderson University in Indiana, where she was recently honored with the Outstanding Alumni award. She has taught at the University of Portland and Warner Pacific College.

Her exemplary professional career includes choral conducting of children of all ages and adult singers in community, school, musical theater and liturgical settings. She has toured extensively in the United States, Canada and Europe as a conductor and accompanist, including more than a dozen performance tours with the Oregon Children's Choir and Youth Chorale.
 
Mrs. Miller was named Outstanding Educator at Sunset High School, one of Oregon's premiere schools, where she worked for 12 years as Department Chair and Choral Conductor.  In the fall of 2006, Mrs. Miller joined the founding faculty of the International School of Beaverton, to develop their choral music program.
 
She is the founder and Artistic Director of the Oregon Children's Choir and Youth Chorale. She is also active as a workshop clinician, guest director, adjudicator and church musician.  Mrs. Miller is married to Dr. Thomas A. Miller, a college professor of music.  They are the parents of one son, Scott.

Career highlights include conducting at Carnegie Hall, Canterbury Cathedral, the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts and the Vatican.

Ray McKean holds a Bachelor of Music degree from Coe College, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and a Master of Music degree from Miami University, Oxford, Ohio in Piano Performance. In great demand as an accompanist, Mr. McKean is also an active church musician, currently serving as organist at Multnomah Presbyterian Church.  Mr. McKean has traveled extensively with the Oregon Children's Choir and Youth Chorale playing concerts in France, Italy, Austria, Germany and the Czech Republic.  He is held in high regard by the singers of OCCYC and plays an integral role in their successful performance.

Mr. McKean and his wife, Amy, a music specialist in the Tigard  School District, are the parents of two middle-school age children, Ellen and David, each of whom are musicians in their own right.

Bruce Krieg is an honors graduate of Warner Pacific College and was recently awarded a Master of Education degree in Integrated Curriculum from Lesley University, Cambridge, Massachusetts.  He has studied private voice with Irene Weldon and currently sings tenor with the Portland Symphonic Choir.
 
In addition to directing the Preparatory Choir he also teaches elementary music as well as integrated technology teaching  strategies for Oregon City School District.  Bruce is also involved in music leadership at Holladay Park Church of God in Northeast Portland.

Lindsay Fuson is a senior at Lake Oswego High School.  She has sung in Oregon Children's Choir and Youth Chorale for eight years and is entering her third year as Accompanist for the Preparatory Choir.  In addition to working with the choir, she teaches private piano lessons and helps in the elementary schools with music.  She also plays in the High School jazz band.  She has studied piano for 11 years and plans on continuing her music career in college.
