"Memories" and the recording of them is a big business at the moment. We keep ticket stubs, programs, pictures, autographs--all in thehope that looking at them at a later date will bring back recollections of good times... experiences that we shared together... things we don't want to ever forget. These photos document the sights, sounds, laughter, and music that OCCYC experienced in the summer of 2004. Moments to savor and relive. Moments that we don't ever want to sacrifice as we continue through time. We are so fortunate to have this pictographic account of those warm summer days in 2004, days that we can relive at the touch of a mouse button.
It would be interesting to poll each traveler with the question, "What is your favorite memory of the trip?" I imagine that each person would respond with quite a different answer. It would also be interesting, I think, to travel through time to the year 2029 and ask the same question. Would our "favorites" change over time?
Many memories are recorded on these pages and many aren't. But each of us will hold our own personal memories deep in our hearts and replay them over and over through the years to come. So it is with gratitude and thanksgiving that we thank, first, each of the adult chaperones who traveled with us and made our trip so comfortable and easy, to Susan DeMars and Sandy Henderson, who gave countless hours in planning and preparation; and to Rich Iredale for collecting and presenting these photographs, documenting the experience of a lifetime. Thanks for the Memories!
